About ALICE

ALICE Technologies helps construction teams plan smarter by using generative construction simulation to explore better ways to build. We work with leading contractors, owners, EPCs, and consultants to improve planning, reduce risk, and make better project decisions.

About the Role

We are hiring a Solutions Engineer to support our growing U.S. go-to-market team. This is a pre-sales technical role focused on helping prospects understand how ALICE can solve real planning and scheduling challenges.

You will partner closely with Account Executives to lead technical discovery, deliver tailored demonstrations, guide technical validations, and help prospects translate project complexity into a clear business case. This role is ideal for someone who combines construction domain credibility with strong communication skills, technical curiosity, and a consultative mindset.

We are especially interested in candidates based on the West Coast or in Austin because of team coverage, collaboration, and travel efficiency.

What You’ll Do

  • Partner with Account Executives to support qualified opportunities through the pre-sales cycle
  • Lead or co-lead technical discovery to understand prospect workflows, planning processes, constraints, and pain points
  • Deliver compelling, value-based product demonstrations tailored to customer use cases
  • Guide technical validations, workshops, and proof-of-value engagements
  • Review schedules and project data provided by prospects and use them to frame meaningful technical conversations
  • Help prospects understand how ALICE supports schedule optimization, scenario evaluation, and planning decision-making
  • Translate technical findings into business value for both practitioners and executive stakeholders
  • Coordinate cross-functionally with Sales, Product, Engineering, Marketing, and Customer Success when needed
  • Capture field feedback and recurring product needs to help improve internal messaging and product direction
  • Help refine demo environments, technical assets, and repeatable SE best practices
  • Support internal enablement by helping AEs improve their technical fluency and demo confidence

What We’re Looking For

  • 5+ years of experience in one or more of the following:
    • Solutions Engineering / Sales Engineering in B2B SaaS
    • Construction planning, scheduling, project controls, or project management
    • Construction technology in a client-facing or technical role
  • Strong understanding of construction workflows and project delivery realities
  • Experience with scheduling and planning tools such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, Asta Powerproject, or similar platforms
  • Ability to run consultative conversations and connect technical detail to customer value
  • Excellent presentation, communication, and facilitation skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability, especially when working from incomplete or ambiguous project data
  • Comfortable learning new software quickly and becoming a product expert
  • Ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-moving environment with high ownership

Strong Plus Qualifications

  • Experience supporting enterprise software evaluations or proof-of-concept motions
  • Experience working with contractors, owners, EPCs, or consultants on large, complex projects
  • Background in project controls, planning, scheduling, or construction operations
  • Familiarity with modern construction technology and digital transformation trends
  • Experience presenting to both technical users and executive stakeholders

What Success Looks Like

In this role, success means:

  • Helping prospects clearly understand how ALICE applies to their planning challenges
  • Increasing the quality and consistency of technical validation across opportunities
  • Building trust with customer stakeholders through construction credibility and strong technical guidance
  • Enabling smoother handoffs from sales to post-sale teams
  • Improving the repeatability of demos, workshops, and evaluation workflows across the SE team

Travel

Travel is an important part of this role. Candidates should be comfortable traveling for prospect meetings, technical workshops, onsite discovery sessions, internal team collaboration, and industry events. Travel will vary based on territory, deal activity, and team needs, but in-person engagement is a meaningful part of the role.

Why Join ALICE

You’ll join a team helping reshape how construction projects are planned and evaluated. This role offers the chance to work at the intersection of construction, software, and decision-making, supporting some of the most sophisticated project teams in the industry while helping define what great Solutions Engineering looks like at ALICE.
