Amperon
Solutions Consultant & Customer Success Manager
The Company You’ll Join
Amperon is a technology company at the intersection of energy data and AI. Specializing in data management infrastructure, coherent AI/ML models, and leading-edge predictive analytics, Amperon helps the full spectrum of power and utility companies to improve grid reliability, optimize asset economics, and accelerate decarbonization. With a commitment to grid modernization and decarbonization, Amperon is the forecasting company of the energy transition.
We bring the brightest mind from energy, security and technology in order to combat climate changes and transition to clean energy solutions. We have offices in Texas but are a remote first company.
The Opportunity
Amperon has early customers in Europe, Account Executives (AE) in market, and a product that is already winning. What we do not have yet is the dedicated technical and customer-facing anchor who owns the full commercial relationship in the region. That is this role.
You will partner with AEs who are already in market and customers who are already live — and you will own the technical sales process and the customer relationship end to end. From first discovery call through multi-year retention, with real autonomy, direct access to leadership, and a clear line of influence into our product roadmap.
There is a foundation here —a strong product offering, customers, AEs, and North American Solutions Consultants (SC) and Customer Service (CS) teams you can lean on as you ramp. Your job is to bring that to Europe and scale it.
What You Will Do
Land: Technical Sales Support
- Own the technical layer of the European sales process — discovery, scoping, trial design, and closing alongside Account Executives
- Run technical trials end to end: configure data delivery, validate forecast outputs against local market benchmarks, and ensure prospects can see value before they sign
- Go deep with technical buyers — data engineers, quant analysts, scheduling teams — on API integration, forecast methodology, and data quality
- Go wide with commercial buyers — trading VPs, heads of risk, C-suite — translating what Amperon does into the market and commercial terms they care about
- Build reusable assets: RFP responses, integration guides, trial templates, market-specific overviews — infrastructure that makes the next deal faster
- Bring genuine European market expertise into every prospect conversation; you are a peer in these discussions, not a pitch deck
Expand: Customer Success
- Own the post-sale relationship for your European accounts — onboarding, adoption, health, renewals, and growth
- Develop deep familiarity with each customer's business: their workflows, P&L exposure, success criteria, and where Amperon fits in their stack
- Stay ahead of risk and opportunity; do not wait for Quarterly Business Reviews to have important conversations
- Translate customer feedback into specific, actionable product requests — you are the primary signal from European markets back into our product and data science teams
- Drive net dollar retention and identify expansion opportunities across your book
- Build the CS motion and playbooks that will scale as we grow beyond this first hire
What Success Looks Like
- By month three, you have run a full technical trial from discovery to close; you know our product as well as anyone outside the core team, and you have a clear view of each European account you inherited and what it needs from us.
- By month six, you are running the European technical sales process independently; you have grown or renewed your first accounts, and you have shipped at least one piece of market intelligence or reusable asset that made the broader team sharper.
- At one year, you are the person at Amperon who knows European energy markets best. You have shaped the product roadmap based on what you are seeing. You have a repeatable motion for landing and expanding European customers. And you are starting to define what the next chapter for the region looks like.
We Think This Role Would Be a Great Fit If You Have
The ideal background for this role is a trader or trading analyst who got curious about the commercial side - someone who has lived inside European power markets and now wants to use that knowledge in a client-facing role. We know that that combination is rare. If you have it, we want to talk.
- 5+ years in European power markets — as a trader, trading analyst, market analyst, or in a technical role with direct exposure to commercial decisions and market dynamics
- Deep fluency in European electricity markets — TSO balancing, intraday and day-ahead auction mechanics, cross-border flows, capacity markets, imbalance settlement. You have used this knowledge to make or inform real decisions, not just describe it
- Hands-on with APIs and data — you can pull, interrogate, and present data independently, and you know what good and bad integration documentation looks like
- Commercial instincts sharpened by market experience — you understand how customers think about risk, value, and cost because you have thought about them the same way
- Able to speak peer-to-peer with a head of trading and then turn around and explain the same concept to an ops team or a CFO — without losing the room
- Autonomous and organized — multiple simultaneous trials and accounts do not cause things to fall through the cracks
Nice to Have
- Experience with ENTSO-E data, EPEX/Nord Pool, or TSO-specific demand and settlement datasets — ideally as a practitioner, not just a vendor
- Background building internal tooling or automation — Python, SQL, or scripting to support commercial or analytical workflows
- Prior experience in a client-facing or commercial role — you do not need a CS or SC title in your history, but you need to have built relationships and managed expectations under pressure
- Fluency in German, French, Spanish, Italian, or a Nordic language
