About the Role:
As a Hardware Test Tech, you will be responsible for building and maintaining test equipment, as well as executing specialized hardware tests for Dexterity’s robotic system. Dexterity’s electrical and electronic hardware systems touch every part of the robot stack, from sensing and data acquisition to fieldbus networks and actuators to high-power robot drive systems. You will work closely with the Hardware Test Engineering, Product Development, Supply Chain, and Assembly teams to improve product quality.
Candidates should have a basic understanding of electrical and embedded systems space. A candidate’s work should reflect data driven methodologies, a desire to create and adopt engineering best practices, and diligent attention to detail.
Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
Execute benchtop and integrated tests on hardware subsystems
Log test result data and observations
Perform preventative maintenance on test equipment
Support engineering with building test stations
Support engineering with generating test reports
Review test reports and give feedback based on test experience
Review and update assembly work instructions
Support engineering with reviewing and updating test plans
Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
1+ years of work experience with testing and inspection of electrical or mechanical assemblies
Basic lab skills. Experience with lab test instruments (multimeters, oscilloscopes, DC loads, power supplies, spectrum analyzers, thermal imagers) and assembly tools for surface mount and through hole technology (soldering station, hot air rework, solder paste, hand assembly).
Understanding of using measurement tools like calipers, micrometers, height gauges, CMM, etc.
Be able to read and understand the assembly drawings, test plans, and other technical documents.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
Loud work environment with temperature change due to seasons.
Walking/standing long hours and being exposed to loud environments/machines in warehouses.
Combination of hands-on and documentation work.
Base pay is one element of our Total Rewards package which may also include comprehensive benefits and equity etc., depending on eligibility. The annual base salary range for this position is from $41,500 - $70,000. The actual base pay offered will be determined on factors such as years of relevant experience, skills, education etc. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis.
