About the Role
We are seeking an Electrical Engineer to join Dexterity’s Hardware Product team. In this role, you will collaborate closely with a world-class cross-functional engineering team and be instrumental in the design, integration, and testing of electrical systems that power our next-generation super-humanoid robot. You will contribute to product development at various stages, from early design concepts to production-ready hardware, and gain exposure to the full lifecycle of hardware engineering. The ideal candidate will be hands-on, detail-oriented, and eager to grow in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Design electrical systems for robotic automation products, ensuring reliability, scalability, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Drive component selection and their integration into the design, ensuring safe and optimal functionality.
  • Contribute to designs for signal integrity, noise interference minimization, and effective grounding practices to maintain system performance and reliability.
  • Utilize eCAD tools to create and review electrical schematics, ensuring alignment with product requirements, mechanical considerations, and adherence to electrical safety standards.
  • Create wiring configurations and harness designs for reliable electrical performance, ease of assembly, and serviceability.
  • Collaborate with Mechanical engineering counterparts to ensure seamless integration of electrical modules/PCBAs and harnesses into the product CAD designs.
  • Develop and execute robust testing plans to verify the functionality and performance of electrical systems, analyzing test results to drive continuous improvement.
  • Write and maintain design documentation that clearly communicates design considerations and trade-offs.
  • Engage in cross-functional collaboration with control engineers to facilitate the development and integration of drivers essential for operation and communication within the robotics solutions.

Qualifications:

  • BS or higher in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
  • 1-4 years of related work experience.
  • Experience with lab test instruments such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, DC loads, power supplies, etc.
  • Familiarity with circuit design, including analog circuits, digital logic, and high-speed signals.
  • Experience in troubleshooting control systems, PCBAs, and electrical system issues.
  • Experience using eCAD tools for designing electrical systems and PCBs.
  • Familiarity with hardware product certification processes and best design practices for compliance (FCC, NFPA 79, UL, CE, IEC) - an advantage.
  • Familiarity with motors, servo drivers, sensors, and communication protocols (EtherCAT, CANBUS, etc.) - an advantage.
  • Strong technical communication and writing skills.
  • Able to work on multiple projects and global engineering teams concurrently with great attention to detail.
  • Proactive and eager to learn.
