Growth Product Manager

Drawboard · Melbourne, Australia (hybrid) · Full-time · $80,000–$130,000 + super, depending on experience

About Drawboard

Drawboard builds tools that replace paper in the built world. Our flagship product, Drawboard PDF, is used by millions of people — engineers, architects, students, and professionals — to mark up and collaborate on documents across Windows, Mac, iOS, and the web. Our second product, Drawboard Projects, powers drawing review and collaboration for architecture, engineering and construction teams at companies like Toyota and some of the world's largest design firms.

We're a ~30-person team headquartered in Melbourne, competing against giants like Adobe and Bluebeam — and winning on product. That means everyone here gets scope and ownership that would take years to earn somewhere bigger.

The role

We're hiring a Growth Product Manager to own the commercial surface of Drawboard PDF: how people discover value, convert, activate, and stay. While our other PMs work with the engineering team on building the product, you'll work on making the product succeed — the funnel, the onboarding, the pricing page, the emails, the moments where a free user decides to pay.

You'll also own something most growth PMs would kill for: our customer support function. Support is where the truth lives — every activation friction point, every churn reason, every confusing feature shows up in our tickets first. You'll manage our support team (two nearly-full-time reps in the Philippines, plus internal product experts who assist), own support quality, and turn what you hear into what we build. We believe support belongs to product, and this role is where that belief lives.

To be direct about how this starts: your first 90 days include working support tickets yourself. There is no faster way to learn our products, our customers, and where the product falls short. After that immersion period, your job is to run the function, not to work the queue — we expect support management to settle at roughly a quarter to a third of your week, with the majority of your time on growth and product work.

What you'll own

Growth & lifecycle (the majority of the role)

  • Conversion across the full funnel — from first visit through trial, activation, and paid conversion — including experimentation on pricing pages, paywalls, and upgrade moments
  • Onboarding: making the first-session experience as fast and effective as possible, measured and iterated relentlessly
  • Product analytics: you'll be the most Amplitude-fluent person in the product org, owning our funnel definitions, activation metrics, and growth dashboards (with support from our data analyst)
  • Lifecycle communications: working closely with marketing on email, in-app messaging, and re-engagement
  • Voice of the customer: synthesising support themes, reviews, and user feedback into a prioritised view the whole product team uses

Support (a meaningful minority of the role)

  • Managing and developing our Philippines-based support team: quality control, coaching, hours, and making sure they feel like part of the team — plus onboarding new support hires as we grow
  • Owning support operations: Zendesk, escalation paths to engineering and product, SLAs, and daily standups
  • Handling complex escalations personally where needed
  • Building the feedback loop from tickets into the product roadmap

What we're looking for

  • 3–6 years in product management, growth, or a closely adjacent role (growth marketing with strong product involvement, or CX/support leadership with genuine product experience). We care more about what you've shipped and moved than your exact title.
  • Demonstrated impact on a conversion, activation, or retention metric — you can tell us what you changed, why, and what happened
  • Strong hands-on analytics ability. Amplitude experience is a big plus; fluency in some product analytics tool and comfort defining your own metrics is essential.
  • Experience managing or coordinating people — direct reports, contractors, or an offshore team
  • Genuine customer empathy and zero preciousness about getting your hands dirty. If answering a frustrated customer's ticket feels beneath you, this isn't your role.
  • Excellent written communication — you'll write to customers, to the team, and about your experiments
  • Comfort with ambiguity and small-company pace: you'll set much of your own roadmap

Nice to have

  • Experience with self-serve / product-led growth SaaS or consumer software
  • Familiarity with subscription tooling (Chargebee or similar), Zendesk, and app store ecosystems (Microsoft Store, Apple App Store)
  • Experience running A/B tests and pricing experiments
  • Exposure to the AEC industry or document/collaboration tools

Why this role is a genuine opportunity

Most growth PM roles hand you a metric and a backlog someone else wrote. This one hands you a function, a team, a direct line to every customer, and a product with millions of users where the growth levers are still largely unpulled. You'll work directly with our CTO and founder-CEO, and your wins will be visible in the company's revenue line, not buried in a quarterly review.

If you want the growth PM role where you actually know the customer — because you own the team that talks to them every day — we'd love to hear from you.
