Senior Mechanical Engineer:

Our Senior Mechanical Engineer will own the mechanical design and analysis for Electric Era’s next generation charging station. They will be responsible for the system level mechanical design that optimizes performance for cost, manufacturing simplicity, as well as the structural and thermal architecture.

Responsibilities will include the structural analysis and design of electromechanical modules, structural framing, thermal fluidic plenums and piping, enclosures, and racking systems. They will also own system level wiring harness layout optimization, part tolerance stack up analysis, design for rapid installation at charging stations, and drawing releases. The successful candidate will be expected to collaborate with cross functional teams of electrical, thermal, mechanical and software engineers in order to achieve the optimal system level design.

Responsibilities:

  1. Mechanical design and analysis of battery pack and battery modules
  2. Part design, supplier management, costing, and tooling design for mechanical systems
  3. Testing and data analysis of key assemblies
  4. Analysis of mechanical systems for thermal, vibration and outdoor exposure environments
  5. Documentation and reporting of key design criteria, design reviews, and test results
  6. Researching of key regulatory & certification requirements and the impact on design

Qualifications & Preferred Skills:

  1. 4+ years of mechanical design and analysis engineering experience
  2. Unigraphics (NX) CAD, NX Advanced Simulation and Team Center experience strongly preferred
  3. Strong understanding of structural analysis and failure modes of mechanical systems
  4. Proven full project ownership and delivery for complex and undefined mechanical design projects
  5. Hands on building, machining, and manufacturing experience
  6. Strong personal and professional project portfolio demonstrating practical capability
  7. Strong verbal and written communication skills and hard driving attitude
