About the role

We are seeking a DevOps Engineer to ensure the stability and operational integrity of the EWF services and Blockchain networks. Collaborating with the development team, you will contribute to project delivery and maintain our core services.

Kubernetes ( EKS, AKS), AWS, Azure, ArgoCD, Github & Github Actions, Terraform, Helm Charts, Grafana, Prometheus, CloudFlare, Substrate, OpenEthereum, Nethermind, Ansible, Python, Golang, Typescript, Solidity, Rust, Atlassian Stack, Monday.com, Slack, Groundcover, Teleport Stack

What are your responsibilities?

  • Develop, integrate, and establish DevOps best practices and tooling for 99.99% uptime.
  • Plan, architect, and deploy large-scale cloud infrastructure across platforms like GCP, AWS, Azure
  • Set up automation pipelines for deployment, monitoring and testing processes in collaboration with development teams.
  • Participate in architecture and design reviews for application reliability and performance improvements.
  • Engage in application performance analysis, system tuning, and capacity planning.
  • Review production application infrastructure and configuration, including security and stress testing.
  • Contribute in establishment of modern SRE practices
  • Identify and automate responses to mission-critical deployment problems.
  • Debug applications and infrastructure with Linux, Kubernetes, AWS, and other DevOps tools.
  • Perform root cause analysis and implement continuous improvements.
  • Ensure day-to-day health, uptime, and monitoring of services and server infrastructure.
  • Improve logging and alerts using AWS, Prometheus, and Grafana.
  • Collaborate with Developers to ensure non-functional requirements are met.
  • Participate in on-call rotations.

Requirements:

  • 3-5+ years of DevOps or SRE experience with a focus on 24/7 uptime.
  • 1+ years of Blockchain infrastructure experience.
  • Proficiency with cloud services like GCP, AWS, or Azure.
  • Experience architecting highly available systems
  • Experience with automation and scripting using Terraform, Kubernetes, ArgoCD, Helm Charts, Ansible, GitHub Actions
  • Strong background in monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or similar.
  • Strong understanding of network protocols and technologies, including DNS, TCP/IP, VPN, etc
  • Experience with Linux, networking, and system operations tools.
  • Proficiency in any of the programming languages - Python, Go, JavaScript, TypeScript or Rust.
  • Able to write code in Shell Script.
  • Strong troubleshooting and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to work independently and lead decision-making processes.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Bachelors or higher degree in Computer Science or related field.

Nice to have:

  • Experience with Ethereum, Substrate Blockchain
  • Develop internal tool with Rust, Go, JS (NodeJS)

Location, travel, and timeline: EWF is a globally distributed organization with regional hubs in Berlin (Germany), and Colorado (USA). The desired location for the DevOps Engineer is EW’s Berlin office (Germany) and applicants in other locations will not be considered.
