Senior BIM Engineer (Remote)
Hyperframe
About Hyperframe
Hyperframe is a metal wall framing system that snaps together without tools, up to 10x faster than traditional construction. The system is powered by software that enables modeling, fabrication, and installation of metal framing with unparalleled precision.
About the Job
As a Senior BIM Engineer, you will take customer data (either in 2D or 3D form) and transform it into an accurate, buildable 3D metal framing model using Revit and our in-house software called HyperBIM. You will use 3D laser scanning software to process point clouds, align them to the BIM, and rectify as-built conditions. Finally, you will prepare job data needed to power our in-house manufacturing system, robotic field layout system, and field installation AR app.
At Hyperframe, you will join a high-caliber, multidisciplinary team of software engineers, mechanical engineers, manufacturing engineers, and product leaders passionate about leading the construction industry into a new era of digitization and precision. Ideal candidates are able to communicate effectively, creatively solve problems, and work with customers to bring their buildings to life. With Hyperframe, details matter, and we are seeking candidates who thrive on getting the details right.
Responsibilities
- Clean up architectural Revit models received from Hyperframe customers
- Create 3D Revit models from 2D drawings, if necessary
- Resolve buildability issues
- Populate metal framing elements using Hyperframe’s proprietary HyperBIM software
- Link MEP models (IFC or DWG files) into HyperBIM to prevent framing clashes
- Process jobsite laser scan data (clean point clouds, register scans, fix misalignment issues, and align to model control)
- Adjust BIM to as-built point cloud
- Export data needed for material ordering, fabrication, robotic wall layout, and field augmented reality (AR) app
- Join VDC coordination meetings with customers
- Standardize Hyperframe’s BIM workflows
- Brainstorm new software features that could make BIM processing easier
