You will be joining us at a critical inflection point in our growth, when, in addition to launching our sixth-generation technology, we are significantly expanding our products, capacity and market volume. </div> Job Summary: The Senior Quality Engineer is responsible for Quality assurance of the Motiv supply base including contract manufacturing and own manufacturing sites. This role will include strategic proactive elements in developing Quality Operating Systems and tactical aspects in providing effective solutions in areas such as supplier quality processes, risk mitigation, and root cause analysis. This position reports to the SVP, Engineering, Supply Chain, Manufacturing and is based out of our Novi, MI facility. <h3> Duties/Responsibilities: </h3> <ul> <li style="font-weight:400;">Lead the supplier approval process by assessing engineering, technology capabilities, manufacturing, health, safety, and environmental risks</li> <li style="font-weight:400;">Lead and support the development of Motiv AVL (Approved Vendor List) process</li> <li style="font-weight:400;">Initiate supplier risk assessment process for critical suppliers during the NPI design and release phase</li> <li style="font-weight:400;">Coordinate with Motiv Engineering to define process parameters and criteria to ensure supplier process capability is effective to meet product and process requirements</li> <li style="font-weight:400;">Provide Supplier specific APQP process support to Program Management Team to achieve program milestones and launch metrics</li> <li style="font-weight:400;">Manage supplier scorecard process for product quality, cost, delivery, responsiveness, capacity, and compliance through continuously KPI metrics monitoring</li> <li style="font-weight:400;">Coordinate with supplier on capacity issues and action plans to mitigate delivery risks</li> <li style="font-weight:400;">Manage implementation of supplier quality processes, including supplier approval activities, source selection evaluations, supplier classification designation (Critical and Standard)</li> <li style="font-weight:400;">Manage supplier quality through supporting Engineering and Manufacturing with 8D, SCAR, Control Plans, DOE and SPC</li> <li style="font-weight:400;">Perform onsite supplier visits, as required, for root cause analysis and verification of correction actions of supplier quality issues</li> <li style="font-weight:400;">Review supplier manufacturing processes, collaborate with suppliers on process improvement and value enhancement opportunities as part of the continual improvement efforts</li> <li style="font-weight:400;">Perform data analysis to correlate field failures with internal production data to understand root causes, reliability risks, and exposures</li> <li style="font-weight:400;">Participate as quality representative to external manufacturing partnerslo</li> <li style="font-weight:400;">Support activities for customer quality, supplier quality, and internal quality requirements</li> <li style="font-weight:400;">Provide ongoing quality engineering support throughout the product life cycle of Motiv product platforms</li> <li style="font-weight:400;">Other duties as assigned</li> </ul> <h3> Required Skills/Abilities: </h3> <ul> <li style="font-weight:400;">Understanding of engineering manufacturing processes and process control</li> <li style="font-weight:400;">Exceptional knowledge of quality improvement tools and statistical and problem-solving capability and credibility to apply it for a start-up in process of scaling up.</li> <li style="font-weight:400;">Knowledge and experience of environmental, reliability, and safety requirements for automotive applications</li> <li style="font-weight:400;">Knowledgeable of Lean Manufacturing Principles preferable</li> <li style="font-weight:400;">Excellent cross-functional communication and collaboration – simplifying and providing practical, clearly applicable solutions</li> <li style="font-weight:400;">Ability to work remotely, individually, or in a team environment</li> <li style="font-weight:400;">A team player with strong communication skills</li> <li style="font-weight:400;">Must possess a sense of urgency</li> <li style="font-weight:400;">A self-starter who can independently prioritize and manage multiple competing tasks</li> <li style="font-weight:400;">Ability to work in a fast-paced development and manufacturing environment</li> <li style="font-weight:400;">Extensive experience with ISO-9001 and IATF-16949 quality management systems</li> <li style="font-weight:400;">Excellent written and verbal communications across technical and non-technical stakeholders</li> <li style="font-weight:400;">Willing and able to travel domestically and internationally</li> <li style="font-weight:400;">Other duties as assigned</li> </ul> <h3> Education and Experience: </h3> <ul> <li style="font-weight:400;">BS in engineering disciplines or equivalent. Master’s degree a plus</li> <li style="font-weight:400;">7+ years of experience in related quality engineering position in the automotive industry</li> <li style="font-weight:400;">Design and Release experience a plus</li> <li style="font-weight:400;">Expertise in APQP, PPAP, MSA, SQC, Six Sigma, SAE/ASTM/ISO Standards Materials and Safety/Compliance standards is a strong plus</li> </ul> <h3> Physical Requirements: </h3> <ul> <li style="font-weight:400;">Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer</li> <li style="font-weight:400;">Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times</li> </ul> <h3> Salary Range: </h3> <ul> <li>$90,000.00-$120,000.00 (Salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and training.)</li> </ul> This is a regular full-time position based in Novi, MI.
