About Odin
Odin Labs, Inc. ("Odin") is the workforce visibility and compliance platform powering the next generation of infrastructure. As demand accelerates for AI data centers, clean energy projects, and large-scale construction, Odin provides the operational backbone for real-time workforce tracking, credential verification, site access, and compliance management. We experienced more than 7x revenue growth from 2024 to 2025, and 2026 has already surpassed 2025 growth.
Odin's growth is driven by rapid expansion and adoption of our software platform across complex, high-compliance construction environments. As we continue to see strong market momentum and a growth in complex construction programs, Odin is preparing for its next stage of scale.
About the role
We are hiring a Senior Physical Security Systems Engineer to own the systems that connect access control and video security to Odin's platform. You will make these systems reliable, secure, and remotely operable at jobsites where network paths, site layouts, and power conditions change as construction progresses.
This is a hands-on position in Platform Engineering. You will lead projects from design through production with product engineers, field operations, and external integrators. Field partners will perform routine installation and service. You will own the technical design, initial and complex deployments, and the standards and tooling that make each system maintainable. The role requires production depth in either physical access control or video management, practical experience with the other, and strong site-networking and power-resilience judgment.
What you will do
Lead physical-security projects from a defined problem through deployment and ongoing operation, coordinating product engineering, field operations, integrators, vendors, and customer stakeholders.
Design, integrate, and operate physical access-control and video-management systems, including their hardware, management software, and connections to Odin.
Design and troubleshoot temporary, relocatable site networks using wired, wireless, point-to-point, and cellular connectivity without relying on permanent cabling or fixed infrastructure.
Define power and environmental requirements for field systems, then work with qualified field technicians and electrical trades to validate the installed solution.
Evaluate, select, and manage the lifecycle of gateways, rugged Android devices, edge controllers, and the systems used to manage the device fleet.
Build software and automation that connect commercial hardware to Odin and keep field systems secure, supportable, and remotely recoverable.
Ensure designs and deployments meet Odin's security, privacy, and compliance requirements, along with applicable safety codes and industry standards.
Lead initial and complex deployments, review partner designs, and validate completed systems against defined acceptance criteria before handoff. Give field partners the standards, telemetry, documentation, and recovery paths needed for routine operation. Turn recurring field needs into reusable integrations, reference designs, and tooling that product teams can build on.
Operate what you build. Participate in the engineering on-call rotation, lead escalated incidents in your area, and use field failures to improve the system.
What we are looking for
You have owned a physical-security or comparable field-systems project from technical design through deployment and production support.
You have deep production experience designing and operating either physical access-control systems or video-management systems. You also have hands-on experience integrating or supporting the other.
You have designed and troubleshot networks for remote, temporary, or changing sites, not only networks in offices or data centers.
You have made deployed equipment resilient to power and environmental constraints and worked effectively with field technicians or electrical trades.
You have delivered physical-security systems in regulated or high-compliance environments and translated security, privacy, safety, or compliance requirements into technical designs and acceptance criteria.
You have integrated commercial hardware through APIs or protocols and written production software or automation that made the system repeatable and remotely supportable.
You have operated distributed field devices in production and can diagnose problems across hardware, software, network, cloud, and installation boundaries.
You have led projects involving engineers, field teams, vendors, or customers and left the resulting systems maintainable without depending on you being present.
You use AI to accelerate your engineering without outsourcing your judgment. You understand, test, and refine the work it helps produce, protect sensitive customer and site data, and answer for the systems you ship.
Nice to have
Experience with Linux edge controllers, local video processing, computer-vision infrastructure, or inference on constrained hardware.
Experience managing rugged Android device fleets through an MDM platform, including application delivery and remote support.
Experience deploying systems on construction sites or similarly dynamic industrial sites.
Experience at an early-stage company where you established field-system standards while continuing to ship hands-on work.
Our stack
You are not expected to have worked with everything listed below. You should bring depth in field systems and enough software and cloud breadth to build and operate integrations with our platform.
Kubernetes on Google Cloud
Postgres on Cloud SQL
Node.js and GraphQL on the backend
TypeScript end to end
Datadog for observability
Benefits and eligibility
Competitive salary package
Comprehensive health insurance coverage for you and your family
Flexible working hours and remote work options
Generous vacation and paid time off policy
This role requires more frequent travel to customer jobsites than our other engineering roles. Travel will be concentrated around site assessment, design validation, rollouts, and complex incidents.
