Why this opportunity?

Optera is growing faster than ever and we are rapidly expanding our market leading product and services. We are looking for a Director of Knowledge and Enablement to empower our team with the industry and product knowledge to succeed at scale, and to lead cross-department collaboration to define and build the customer education journey. This role at Optera is a hands-on and cross functional role, and includes internal knowledge management as well as customer-facing efforts. The role and responsibilities

  • Internal: Drive technical enablement for Optera’s external facing teams by building systems, documentation, and trainings to ensure awareness and internal adoption of new software products and features
  • External: Guide cross-department collaboration to define the product education journey for Optera software customers and lead program execution, including implementation of product Knowledge Bases
  • Internal & External:Identify gaps in documentation and standardization and find creative ways to streamline, playbook, and scale processes
  • Internal: Own reporting for and drive company-wide professional development and knowledge sharing initiatives
  • Internal: Manage the company’s Learning Management System and evaluate and manage new knowledge management tools as needed
  • Internal & External: Compile, distill, and disseminate industry knowledge from internal and external ESG experts
  • Internal: Craft learning materials, programs, and approaches that support a variety of learning styles, diverse team makeup, and both remote and in-office team members
  • Internal: Refine scope and future needs of Knowledge & Enablement at Optera in collaboration with executive team and department leaders
  • Internal: Grow, manage, and empower the future Knowledge & Enablement team

Your qualities

  • Passionate about helping others grow, develop, and foster a growth mindset
  • Self-motivated and adept at planning and working relatively independently, while providing updates and asking for support when needed
  • Ability to efficiently draw content from subject matter experts and package the information into engaging learning opportunities
  • Adept at breaking down complex topics into approachable and effective content
  • Comfortable planning and carrying out simultaneous short and long-term projects
  • Desire to use metrics to evaluate programs and inform continuous improvement

Your experience/qualifications

  • Proven ability to design and deliver internal employee learning
  • Prior experience developing and implementing software customer training programs
  • Demonstrated ability to work across departments to build consensus and trust among a variety of stakeholders
  • Skilled at evaluating and implementing relevant software systems, such as employee learning systems, help centers, and customer education platforms
  • Knowledge of ESG and carbon accounting
  • Ability and experience growing and managing a team
  • Experience in a startup and/or software-as-a-service company

Location: remote with optional office in Boulder, CO

Position: Full time

Base Salary: $120,000-$140,000 plus bonus and option for equity
