Role Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic and proactive Project Manager to join our team, focusing on permitting coordination for Electric Vehicle (EV) fast charging station deployment. As part of the Implementation team this role will be a critical member for researching, applying for and owning all permitting processes required to execute charging deployments for Electric Era. This role will als work with 3rd party construction and EPC partners to support them in permitting expedites and permit approvals. The ideal candidate must have a strong understanding of large-scale, complex, project siting and permitting processes.

Responsibilities:

  1. Serve as the Implementation lead responsible for all permitting processes required for each site deployment.
  2. Perform a variety of routine and complex clerical, administrative and technical work in the processing and issuance of a variety of permits.
  3. Provide internal expertise on federal, state, and local permitting regulations and processes as they relate to potential project sites.
  4. Work with third party construction vendors to aid in supporting documentation for permit submission and approvals.
  5. Develop and maintain relationships with municipalities to support permitting activities.
  6. Follow up on inquiries about project status in a timely, efficient, and professional manner.
  7. Follow up with local jurisdictions for application process, costs, and status updates.
  8. Drive permitting and inspection process improvements and code compliance updates through strategic engagement with local government staff.
  9. Work with Government Affairs team on escalations requiring elected official engagement and local ordinance passage.
  10. Support continuous improvement of the site design process to continually improve speed to market and charging customer experience.
  11. Support additional tasks across design, installation, construction and commissioning as needed according to business growth.

Qualifications & Preferred Skills:

  1. 2+ years of permit processes, regulations, and projects experience
  2. EV experience and/or related energy background strongly preferred
  3. Experience working with regulatory entities (federal, state, and local)
  4. Proven capability of working in a fast paced and always changing environment
  5. Strong analytical mindset and problem-solving mentality
  6. Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
  7. Detailed understanding of the current public fast charging landscape
  8. Exceptional communication and project management skills to effectively progress discussions with important stakeholders.
