Electric Era's Government Affairs team seeks a GIS & Policy Analyst to support Electric Era's business interests through data and policy analysis. This will involve working with government agencies and utilities to develop and promote policies that support the growth of electric vehicle charging infrastructure, and using geospatial analysis tools to connect policies and grant programs to Electric Era’s sales motions. The GIS & Policy Analyst will also be responsible for tracking and analyzing legislation and regulations that impact Electric Era's business. Lastly, this role will help manage and contribute to applications that secure government grants and utility incentives related to electric vehicle charging infrastructure on behalf of Electric Era's customers. This role will play a crucial part in expanding Electric Era's reach and promoting the widespread adoption of electric vehicles.

Responsibilities would include:

  • performing geospatial analysis to understand grant program eligibility for Electric Era’s partners
  • optimizing GIS tooling and processes to create efficient workflows that enable other teams in the company to be self-service with GIS data
  • organizing geospatial data, including data stored on the cloud for servicing webmaps used by various teams at Electric Era
  • tracking policy issues related to electric vehicle charging at the federal, state, and local levels
  • providing written feedback and meeting with government officials to tactfully articulate Electric Era’s business interests, aligning these interests with the public good
  • project-managing proposals and applications by liaising with internal teams, with our customers, and with government agencies and utilities to ensure complete, competitive, and timely submissions;
  • drafting and editing high-quality proposals and applications;
  • helping to monitor and track government grant programs and utility incentive programs that are relevant for our customers;
  • monitoring and tracking the status of submitted proposals/applications;
  • assisting the team with outreach to – and developing relationships with – government agencies and utilities;
  • ultimately, helping to secure government funding or utility incentives for Electric Era customers.

The GIS & Policy Analyst will require working closely with Government Affairs team members and cross-functionally, including our business development, sales, engineering, and implementation teams; collaborating well with our customers, public agencies, utilities, and other external stakeholders; and being capable of juggling multiple projects simultaneously.

The ideal candidate has:

  • 4+ years of full-time professional experience;
  • experience with GIS tools, including ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online
  • experience writing or reviewing public policy or municipal code
  • experience or background in the public sector, utility/energy, transportation/mobility, etc.
  • experience drafting or managing complex proposals/RFPs/solicitations/tenders;
  • impeccable writing skills;
  • detail-oriented, ownership mindset;
  • competitive spirit;
  • ability to juggle multiple projects at once and to work in a fast-moving startup environment;
  • understanding of where to source various geospatial datasets and create shapefiles from other data sources;
  • ability to understand and convey technical information; and
  • ability to find data-driven solutions to a variety of policy and business problems.

Salary range for this position is $120,000 to $140,000 with stock options
