About the Role

Electric Era is seeking a talented, sales-driven professional who can autonomously manage the full lifecycle of new site development for our advanced EV charging solutions. The Business Development Manager is fully responsible for driving customer acquisition and leading the site development of customer-owned locations, managing our pipeline from initial outreach to construction hand-off.

In this role, you will manage the development of customer properties, handle contract negotiations directly with customers, oversee utility and permitting feasibility studies, and ensure an efficient project hand-off to the design and installation teams. You will act as the face of Electric Era, accelerating customer acquisition while ensuring EV drivers have the best experience at the most convenient, reliable charging stations.

Core Responsibilities

  • Customer Acquisition & Engagement: Lead the sales cycle by responding to inquiries, educating customers on Electric Era’s product capabilities, and strategically mapping our technology to meet their specific business requirements.
  • Pipeline & Customer Site Development: Develop, relentlessly manage, and fully own a robust sales pipeline of prospective customers. Conduct comprehensive site due diligence on customer-owned locations to confirm their properties are high-quality, buildable, and aligned with market goals.
  • Contract Negotiation: Serve as a strong advocate for the company, working directly with internal or external legal counsel to draft, negotiate, and execute commercial agreements and contracts with customers.
  • Design & Engineering Collaboration: Work closely with design engineers and installation colleagues to optimize site layouts on customer land, assess installation costs, and manage construction timelines.
  • Utilities & Permitting: Collaborate with customers and design teams to conduct feasibility studies on customer properties, secure necessary approvals from local permitting authorities, and manage the utility interconnection process.
  • Stakeholder & Project Management: Build and maintain exceptional relationships with deployment partners, internal colleagues, and customers. Accurately forecast upcoming milestones, document sales progress, and seamlessly manage upwards of 20+ customer projects concurrently.

Requirements

  • Experience: 2+ years experience of project management and professional experience is a requirement
  • Negotiation Expertise: Proven sales and negotiation experience, with a track record of successfully closing contracts, commercial agreements, or complex B2B deals.
  • Industry Experience: A background in B2B sales, customer support, customer success, EV charging, or solar infrastructure development is preferred.
  • Elite Organization: Highly organized with the capacity to simultaneously manage a pipeline of 20+ active customer projects in various phases of development without missing a beat.
  • Autonomy & Drive: A self-motivated, "high-motor" approach to execution and quota attainment. You must be outspoken about what is needed to close deals and comfortable working independently.
  • Business Savvy: Deep understanding of customer needs and the ability to pitch how Electric Era’s charging solutions integrate into and elevate their broader business goals.
  • Communication Skills: A strategic listener, conscious conversationalist, and highly persuasive communicator. Must be comfortable pitching and adapting your message for all types of stakeholders, including CEOs, facility managers, city planners, and utility engineers.
  • Risk Management: An aggressive, proactive approach to identifying deal-blocking risks on customer properties and solving problems before they can impact project timelines or budgets.
  • Travel & Logistics: Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Ability to obtain a US passport is required.
  • Salary Range: $100,000-165,000
