Electric Era was founded to actualize the transition to a 100% renewable energy powered world. We are a high tech, high intensity company founded and operated by engineers on a mission to revolutionize the world's electric vehicle charging infrastructure.

The Job & Role:

We do things differently at Electric Era. If you’ve ever wanted to manage a software team, its product, but also own and be exposed to business-level decision-making we have that here. Everyone, from our junior engineers to our CEO, has a strong ownership mentality. We have a small, lean, hard-charging team; we can’t afford not to have people obsessed with owning engineering and business outcomes.

If you want your stuff to see the light of day fast, we have that here. No miles of red tape or bureaucracy. If it’s important, it happens. If it’s easily messed up, it’s simplified, then given a process. If the process is onerous, it’s deleted. We don’t have time to sit around, so you can guarantee that things move fast.

The best idea wins; everyone can and is expected to contribute to good system design, to challenge bad requirements and decision decisions, and always move the puck forward.

Electric Era is looking for strong engineering managers that want everything described above. You will be leader of a world-class team that owns the complete product life cycle deliverable from ideation, development, implementation, testing and troubleshooting real problems in the field.

The Responsibilities:

  • Manage a small but growing team of world-class engineers in developing the most autonomous charging platform in the field to date, and the most capable next-gen charging platform to hit the market
  • Champion software design and drive your architectural vision across a number of different domains: enterprise cloud software, embedded software, IoT products, AI tooling, security infrastructure, and more
  • Communicate with customers on calls and in person, and continuously develop and update product-market fit for new software features
  • Develop, maintain, and update the software development roadmap as the company navigates a complex path through the energy economy
  • Own company-level objectives and be responsible for reporting out to executive staff and the broader company
  • Develop the team to greatness; support individual contributors career growth into technical and managerial leadership
  • Build and manage software deliverables through production and into the field, participating in on-call rotations and supporting your product and team in a real-world environment

Preferred Qualifications & Skills:

  • 5 to 7+ years of consumer/industrial electronics, aerospace, or automotive embedded systems or programming experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in a software engineering or similar discipline
  • Prior experience managing teams of 5 or more software engineers
  • Track record of success working effectively and independently in a multi-disciplinary manner to prioritize and deliver with competing deadlines
  • Experience managing software development in live, consumer-facing environments, and building operational scalability with both tactical and strategic planning
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and hard driving attitude

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Salary Range: $175,000 - $225,000 / year
  • Additional Compensation: This position may also be eligible for incentive compensation, commission, equity awards, or other compensation programs, subject to applicable plan terms.
  • Benefits: Electric Era offers a comprehensive benefits package, which may include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability coverage, paid time off, paid holidays, parental leave, retirement benefits, and other company-sponsored programs, subject to plan terms and eligibility requirements.
