Vecna Robotics seeks a leader to oversee the Fleet Software and DevOps Teams. The Manager of the Fleet and DevOps is responsible for leading the team that builds the internal tools to support our engineers and robots, and the team that develops software to optimally orchestrate robots.
The Fleet Software team develops the system's fleet management software. This includes work allocation, traffic management, payload modeling, end-user workflow definition, and monitoring and support tools for this logic. The DevOps team develops our internal tools such as automated test frameworks, and deployment automation. This team addresses the speed, quality, and confidence in our development, validation, and deployment.
The Manager, Fleet Software and DevOps Teams will manage the teams’ performance KPIs and ensure that the teams achieve their sprint goals. The ideal candidate will be team-oriented and creative with a strategic drive and exceptional communication and leadership skills.
Reporting to the Vice President of Cloud Software, the Manager, Fleet Software and DevOps Teams position is a full-time, salaried role with benefits based in our Waltham, MA office.
In the role Manager, Fleet Software and DevOps Teams you will:
- Manage the Fleet and DevOps teams’ planning, and workload based on the Company’s priorities; define the teams’ processes, roles, and necessary skills.
- Commit to excellence by managing deadlines, executing established goals, and maintaining high-quality delivery.
- Identify, mitigate, and escalate risks, as necessary and appropriate.
- Collaborate with the program management team to ensure software is released according to. product development targets.
- Ensure quality of deliverables in a timely manner.
- Lead the Fleet and DevOps teams: drive performance management through KPIs and OKRs, foster a collaborative and communicative team culture, provide performance feedback and support development.
What we are looking for:
- Bachelor's degree with 4 years of experience in software development or software management required; Masters a plus.
- 2+ years’ experience managing software teams.
- Robust knowledge of standard engineering processes, including agile and waterfall.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated ability to thrive in rapid growth and transformative environments.
- Experience with Chef, Ansible, Java, Automated Testing Frameworks a plus.
